Pioneering Parkinson’s Care: The First NHS Outcomes using the Neu Health Platform

Neu Health is already making significant strides, working with three NHS hospitals to support over 250 people with Parkinson's.

The Neu Health solution includes a prescribed app that utilises smartphone sensors to objectively measure clinical symptoms remotely, including voice, balance, walking, finger dexterity, reaction time, tremor, and cognition. Non-motor symptoms and medication adherence are also collected, and the data becomes immediately available to the patient's clinical team via an online dashboard. This provides a comprehensive and longitudinal view of a patient’s condition outside the clinic environment.

In the first six months, East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) has shown remarkable outcomes, value and longer-term potential using our technology.

Key Outcomes:

  • Enhanced Clinical Outcomes: Clinicians reported significant improvements in care and clinical outcomes for 90% of patients.

  • Improved Patient Care: 53% of patients experienced changes in their care, including optimized medication and more appropriate treatment regimens.

  • Increased Patient Quality of Life: Continuous app usage increased patient knowledge, empowerment, and confidence around their condition, improving quality of life by an average of 12%.

  • Efficiency Savings: NHS services saw 20% efficiency savings, enabling more effective care delivery and saving time and money for the health service.

  • Better Clinician Knowledge: Clinicians' understanding of their patients improved in 100% of cases, allowing for enhanced care delivery.

  • Facilitation of Remote Care: The technology enabled patient-initiated follow-ups and remote consultations in approximately 50% of cases.

“These outcomes demonstrate the real-life impact, value, and long-term potential of Neu Health's technology in enhancing care and improving healthcare services,” said Dr Kinan Muhammed, CMO and Co-Founder at Neu Health. “Our goal is to make Parkinson's and dementia care more accessible, objective and efficient, and the results from ESNEFT are evidence for what can be achieved with innovative digital health solutions.”

Neu Health's technology not only supports patients but also enables clinicians with better insights, ultimately leading to improved care delivery and patient outcomes. The results of the service evaluation data have also been features by Parkinson’s UK Excellence Network, recognising the impact that has been made in the NHS.
